SOLAR PATHWAYS INCLUSIVE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
Over the next 8 weeks, our commitment is to enhance our grassroots Inclusive Workforce Development Program by securing funding to support trainees in obtaining a valuable credential. The primary objective is to provide comprehensive on-the-job training and education.
Recognizing that not all trainees may pursue PV installations, we highly value their contributions to the solar industry. Therefore, we offer on-the-job training to develop skills essential to the industry, including sales, design, administration, and laborer skills. Our ultimate goal is to prepare trainees for sustained success in the solar industry while addressing their diverse needs.
The 8-week program is complemented by wrap-around services, including mental health counseling, job placement assistance, and financial literacy. It incorporates immersive experiences such as visits to job sites and product locations for hands-on training.
Designed to support low-income Detroiters and individuals with disabilities, but all are welcome. The program also provides optional training in skills like sales, design, administration, laborer skills, as well as community engagement and safety. Certifications are offered if interested.
Our year-round program aims to support low-income individuals in Detroit aged 18 or older. We offer tailored on-the-job training, education, and pathways for long-term success in the solar industry, addressing their unique needs and facilitating the acquisition of valuable skills and experience.
Additionally, stay tuned for an upcoming summer program specifically for youth aged 14-17 years old. This training is offered by Community Treehouse Center Detroit. For more information, please inquire at communitytreehousecenter@gmail.com.
